Built on years of friendship and mutual respect for each other’s artistic talents, the Blackened cigar project is a three-way collaboration between James Hetfield, Rob Dietrich, and our founder, Jonathan Drew Sann.

Blackened M81 is the original release in the Blackened cigar series – a collaboration between James Hetfield of Metallica, Master Distiller Rob Dietrich, and Drew Estate founder Jonathan Drew Sann. M81 is Maduro to the Core – a monster of flavor. This blend features a deep Mexican Maduro as the wrapper, meticulously packed with Maduro binder and filler leaves that drive hard. The result is a dark, bold, extremely flavorful smoking experience. Blackened M81 delivers a raucous symphony of dark chocolate, warm, toasty undertones, and a backing of subtle black pepper.
